Our week at #StrathFreshers 2018!
Now pretty much all of the students are back on campus across the country, and freshers’ weeks (or ‘welcome weeks,’ if your uni tries to tone it down by calling it that) are kicking off. We at Team Gyphto spent this week in Glasgow at the University of Strathclyde to take part in their Freshers’ Fortnight, chatting to freshers and student veterans about the upcoming launch of the Gyphto app, and handing out a whole stack of gifts in the process!

DAY 1: STUDENT ACCOMMODATION
We donned our Gyphto garms (complete with QR code to our facebook page!) and headed down to our first stop at the student accommodation on campus to go say hi to some eager new freshers getting settled in!
We had a rare time hanging out in Rottenrow, handing out our signature purple gift boxes, and chatting to new Strathy students about our mission to end unwanted gifts and take the hassle out of group gifting!

DAY 2 & 3: FRESHERS' FAIR/SPORTS FAIR
The next couple of days were dedicated to two of the biggest students events at Strathclyde: the Freshers' Fair and the Sports Fair! The vibes were amazing, with Glasgow clubs such as Kushion, Sub Club, Shimmy and the Garage coming along and providing some tunes for the events! The union was stuffed full of clubs, societies and companies offering freebies - notable winners would be pizza from Dominos, cans of Lucozade to get everyone going again, Buckfast slushies from Strathsnow, and of course Gyphto gift boxes as a wee surprise!
DAY 4: GLASGOW FRESHERS' FESTIVAL (...WELL...KINDA...)
Soooo, we had big plans to hit up the Glasgow Freshers' Festival in George Square on Wednesday, however, #StormAli had something to say about that and the festival was shut down! Although, seeing some of the destruction caused by the storm, it's definitely best that we all stayed indoors that day.
Overall we had an amazing week getting out there, meeting loads of new and returning students, and spreading the word about Gyphto! Gyphto is the easiest, fastest and most secure way to chip in money towards group funds. Eliminate the hassle of collecting money for group gifts, special occasions and travel. In just 3 steps create a group collection, invite friends, family and work mates to chip in and buy the perfect gift with your #squad. Look out for Gyphto launching on the Apple App Store this autumn!
